Everyone has a different way of dealing with stress and frustration. Some yell, cry, fight, act out, make messes, but Josselyn decided her way of dealing with the stress of our current situation was to pull her hair out. On one side, she was almost completely bald. We decided, with her input, that she wanted to look like Odette. Ken took the clippers and gave her a haircut. She was so excited, but when she saw the pile of hair she told Ken to please put it back on her head. That didn't last long though, as soon as she was asked to pose for the camera she was in love with her haircut. This morning she woke up and came and told me that she was "a beautiful princess" just like Odette. I am so glad that she has such a good sense of who she is and what it means to be beautiful. That is something more difficult to come by than hair!

Dealing with Stress

Holy cow, how sweet is that!! I love it! What a sweet little girl!
ReplyDeleteStephanie I had no idea what a whirlwind your family was going through! Tami told me about your blog so I decided to see what was happening! I'm so sorry about Odette! Rebecca (my sister) started her blog after her little Jared was born with so many health issues and uses it to keep people updated and to keep herself sane she says. Her little Jared is stable right now but you two can definitely commisserate with each other about trips to Primary Children's and being helpless to make a baby's pain go away. Odette looks like a fighter! I think these babies end up stronger and tougher and wiser than everyone else! Good luck and I pray that the chemo, however nasty it is, will work!!! If you want to say "hi" to Becca and ask about her Primary Children's frequent-flyer trips, her blog is http://jaredsangels.blogspot.com/. It sounds like you are doing amazing Stephanie, and who cares weeds get high, it's proof that you have more important things to worry about! :)
ReplyDeleteK- I totally thought that was Brandt before I looked at the heading and read the caption. What a sweet baby!!
ReplyDeleteWhen Lauren and Max were in the NICU they had a line in their hearts. They called it a pic line. Totally sucked, and it's a fantastic day when it gets removed!! They held a party and everything when it came out. It's hard at first to see all those lines and tubes coming out of your child, but you do get used to it, and then you start to thank God that we have what knowledge we do so that that precious little one has a fighting chance at being here with you for a while, and you get the pleasure to know her and see her grow and change. I hope you know that we pray for you and your sweet family. It's hard on everyone, but knowing you you're being too hard on yourself. You're a good mom, and you know how to find your balance when you need it!! Remember you have friends who love you guys and are thinking of you often. Love Ya Tons, Stephanie!!!
